Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every one-off social event booked and paid for separately from membership (a "Social Event"). They are in addition to our main Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy at themawcroftclub.co.uk. If there is a conflict, these terms apply to Social Events.

1. Booking and payment

1.1 Your place is confirmed once payment is taken and you receive a confirmation message.

1.2 Prices, dates, times and what is included are shown on the booking page for each Social Event.

1.3 Member rates apply only to current members using the code we send them. We may check this against our member list and ask for the difference if a code is used by someone who isn't a member.

1.4 A free guest visit under our membership terms applies to regular gatherings only, not to Social Events, unless stated otherwise on the booking page.

2. Cancellations, transfers and refunds

2.1 A Social Event is a booking for a leisure activity on a specific date. The 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 therefore does not apply.

2.2 Tickets are non-refundable. You may transfer your place to another person if you tell us by the transfer deadline shown on the booking page. We may ask for their name and contact details.

2.3 If we cancel a Social Event for any reason (including weather or venue closure), we will offer you a full refund or a place at a new date.

2.4 If we make a significant change to a Social Event (for example the date or venue), you may ask for a full refund if the change doesn't suit you.

2.5 We may refuse entry or remove anyone whose behaviour is unsafe or disrespectful to others, without refund.

3. Venues and third parties

3.1 Many Social Events take place at third-party venues. You must follow the venue's rules and staff instructions.

3.2 We are not responsible for services that the venue supplies directly, except where the law says we are.

4. Taking part

4.1 You take part at your own risk and are responsible for deciding whether an activity is suitable for you. Tell us or the venue in advance if you need any adjustments.

4.2 Social Events are for adults aged 18 or over unless the booking page states otherwise.

4.3 You are responsible for your own belongings.

4.4 You are responsible for damage you cause at the event or venue.

5. Liability

5.1 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

5.2 Otherwise, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the Social Event.

6. Photos and video

6.1 We may take photos and video at Social Events for The Mawcroft Club's website and social media. If you'd rather not be included, tell us on the day and we will respect that.

7. Your data

7.1 We use your details to run the event and to contact you about it. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data and your rights.

8. Changes and law

8.1 We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you book applies to your booking.

8.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
